Buddha image in the naagprok pose, i.e. seated in deep meditation under a Taengwood Tree while Muchalinda ,the king of nagas , is protecting the Buddha against heavy rain by making a cover with its multi-headed figure, whilst coiling its body under the Buddha, to lift him above the floodwaters. This pose corresponds to Saturday in the Phra prajam wan geut system, while the purple colour of the background corresponds to Saturday in the sih prajam wan system. |
