Phra Sri Ahraya Metraiya, i.e. Maitreya, Huan Xi Fo, Mi Le Fo or Budai, who is in English best known as the Smiling Buddha, and who in Thailand is often confused with Phra Sangkatjaai. In the centre, at the bottom of the stamp, is the Thai text: Thetsakahn Trut Jihn, as well as the translation thereof, i.e. ‘Chinese New Year’. |
