Thai Architecture: Ho Rakhang (Thai Bell Tower) of Wat Phra Kaew ‘Temple of the Jewelled Buddha’. The most important temple in Bangkok and Thailand, housing the Emerald Buddha . It is a royal temple without a Sanghavasa, built next to the old royal palace Phra Rachawang in Phra Nakhon . The inner walls of the gallery that encloses the temple have elaborate murals depicting the complete story of the Ramakien. They were initially painted during the rule of Rama I, but restored several times afterwards. The temple is much publicized. The temple's official name is Wat Phra Sr Rattana Sahtsadahrahm. |
