Important Buddhist Religious Day - Asalha Bucha Day (1997)

To commemorate the annual Asalha Bucha Day, which is held on the day of the full moon in July commemorating the first sermon of the Buddha given to the five monks in Sarnath

This mural at Wat Neramit Wipatsanah in Loei depicts the scene from the Bhuridatta Chadok in which the Prince of the Nagas is depicted coiled around the termite mound, which he uses as a seat for meditation, as well as Alambayana, the Brahmin snake charmer chanting the magic spell behind a fan in order to capture the great serpent.
