Celebration of Asalha Puja Day. Asalha Puja or “Asanha Bucha” in Thai is a Theravada Buddhist festival which takes place on the full moon of the eighth lunar month, falling on various dates in the month of July every year. It is also called the “Dhamma” or “Dharma Day. Stamp shows Canda-Kumar sitting on the sacrificial pyre. Sakka, the King of the Gods is striking the sacrificial pyre area with his thunderbolts with the King’s Royal umbrellas falling down and the citizens running helter-skelter, fearful for their lives. |
