Phanom Rung is probably the most impressive and significant of the Khmer temples that can be found in Buriram province, Thailand. It was constructed in Angkor style during the 10th until the 13th century . It was a Hindu shrine dedicated to Shiva, and symbolizes Mount Kailash, his heavenly dwelling.

One of the main sanctuary of Phanom Rung built with sandstone in the 11th century.  The sanctuary is square with indented corners, giving it a round feel.
