Ancient sculpture
Stamps illustrating the stone sculpture of the Bodhisattva.

To help promote the Chinese Cultural Renaissance Movement, this Directorate released a set of stamps featuring ancient Chinese stone carving. With designs recommended by the National Museum of History, this set consists of four stamps.

The four pieces of stone carving featured on the stamps are briefly described as follows:

Head of Bodhisattva  - Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) 
Standing Buddha  -     Northern Chi Dynasty (550-577) 
Head of Bodhisattva -  Tang Dynasty (618-907) 
Seated Bodhisattva -   Tang Dynasty (618-907)
