Mount Wutai-Zhenhai Temple

Mount Wutai, also known by its Chinese name Wutaishan and as Mount Qingliang, is a sacred Buddhist site at the headwaters of the Qingshui in Shanxi Province, China. As host to over 53 sacred monasteries, Mount Wutai is home to many of China's most important monasteries and temples. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 and is one of China’s  great Sacred Landscapes.

Zhenhai Temple, Yangbai yu was built in the Ming Dynasty. It was named after the Zhenhai Pagoda built on the sea bottom spring next to the temple. It was the residence of Zhangjia Living Buddha from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. It is now a Tibetan Buddhist Gelug Sect monastery.
