Architecture of the Dai Nationality
Dai nationality lives in the region of Yunnan province with a long history and brilliant culture.  The Dai architecture has a unique style, most of which was built with bamboo.  The bamboo buildings among the bamboo forest are the residence of Dai people.  The walls are sheltered with exquisite "well tower". The pagodas distributed in the Dai area placed the hope of the Dai people  to have a peaceful and happy life.
The Dai are mainly Theravada Buddhists. Dai Buddhism also contains many shamanistic beliefs and practices. The Dai were animists before Buddhism became popular and their belief in natural spirits continues. Until very recently, every Dai village had at least one Buddhist temple while larger villages had two to five temples.
