Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park
Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park:
The Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park contains the ruins of the ancient town of Kamphaeng Phet, an important town in the Sukhothai Kingdom. The park  contains monuments built during the 13th to 17th centuries by the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya empires. Spread out over several sites on both sides of the Ping river are the remains of a great number of temples built during the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya era’s.
The Wat Phra Kaew or “temple of the Emerald Buddha” is the largest temple of the central zone of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park.
The Wat Phra Non is an ancient temple located in the forested area known as Aranyik, the North zone of the Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park. Its name translates to “temple of the reclining Buddha”.
The Wat Chang Rop is a temple founded in the 15th or 16th century. It is located on top of a hill in the Aranyik area of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, North West of the Wat Singha. Its name translates to “temple surrounded by elephants”.
The Wat Phra Si Iriyabot is a large temple located in a tranquil, forested setting in the Aranyik area a few hundred meters North of the old walled town. Its name translates to “temple of the four postures of the Buddha”.
