Sri Satchanalai Historical Park
Sri Satchanalai Historical Park:
Si Satchanalai Historical Park contains the ruins of the ancient town of Si Satchanalai, an important town in the Sukhothai Kingdom in the 13th and 14th century. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park contains the remains of dozens of temples spread across four sites including Khmer temples in the Chaliang area that predate the Sukhothai era.
The Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo is a large temple located in the central zone of the Si Satchanalai Historical Park, the ancient town contained within a system of defensive walls. Its name translates to “the temple with seven rows of chedis”. The Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo was built between 1340 and 1350 by Sukhothai King Lithai.
The Wat Chang Lom is a large Buddhist temple in the central zone of Si Satchanalai Historical Park. Its name translates to “temple surrounded by elephants”. The temple found close to the center of the old walled town near the Yom river was founded in the 14th century during the Sukhothai period. The Wat Chang Lom comprises of a large Singhalese style principal bell shaped chedi, two viharns and a subsidiary chedi. The square temple area is surrounded by a laterite wall with an entrance gate
Outside of Si Satchanalai’s town walls is the Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, one of the oldest temples of Si Satchanalai Historical Park. The large temple is located East of the historic walled town in Chaliang, on a small peninsula almost entirely surrounded by the Yom river. The Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat predates the Sukhothai era. It was founded in 1237, when the area was under control of the Khmer empire from Angkor.
Wat Suan Kaeo Utthayan Noi  is the ruins of an ancient Thai Buddhist temple in the Si Satchanalai Historical Park, Thailand. It is easily identified by its lotus-bud chedi (stupa), with a mandapa in front of it. The lotus bud stupa of Wat Suan Kaeo Uttayan Noi has a square base with five diminishing tiers, culminating on a slender column with redented corners, on top of which is the bulbous form of the lotus bud.
