Thai Traditional Festival - Candle Festival
To promote stamp collecting activities and the Wax Candle Procession at the beginning of the rainy season, with the start of rainy retreat. Decorative mould or elaborately carved candles being carried around in a procession. The candles are entered in a contest in which neighbouring villages compete against each other for the most beautiful candles. Eventually the candles are offered to the local temple.
