| Woodcarving - Macao Religious Figure Carving | |
The religious figure carving is one of the oldest traditional industries in Macao, with more than 100 years history. In order to protect this excellent local manual skill, the “Woodcarving – Macao Religious Figure Carving” was included in the second National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2008 upon application by the Macao SAR government. Macao Post will issue this stamp theme on 7th September, 2010. This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the religious figures selected for the stamps are “Buddha”, “Na Tcha”, “Kun Iam” and “Tin Hau”. The souvenir sheet shows “The Eight Immortals”. |
