Edo Castle

Edo Castle, built in 1457 by Ota Dokan, later became the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate (1603–1867) and the residence of the shōgun. Today it forms part of the Tokyo Imperial Palace in Chiyoda, with remnants such as moats, walls, and ramparts still visible.
