Kun Iam Tong

Puji Zen Monastery also known as Kun Iam Tong , built in 1698 by Master Dashan on a former Guanyin temple site, is a notable example of Lingnan architecture. Following the Caodong lineage of Chan Buddhism, it also reflects local culture, blending Confucian, Taoist, and Mazu folk elements. At the main gate stands an image of Maitreya Buddha in his sinicized “big-bellied” form.
